Ryu 3D Pavement Art by CptMunta

Wait! What is Ryu doing underground anyway? Is he perhaps in league with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

I’d like to live in a city where pictures of Street Fighter characters adorn the streets. Instead I’m stuck with yellow pavement.

  • Super Street Fighter IV: New Characters and Balance Changes Detailed
Now that the arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV has commenced its first location test, we've gotten not only two new characters confirmed (as if they weren't already), but also gotten details regarding the two new characters as well as balancing changes to characters already in the game. Just in case you've somehow managed to miss it, the two new characters (possibly the first two of a larger group of new characters) are Yun and Yang from Street Fighter III.
  • Previewing the 3DS: Speculation on Launch Window, Price and More
E3 2010 had a lot of games from a lot of companies. We learned a lot. For 3DS much was revealed, but we have much to learn. With Nintendo rumored to be revealing 3DS launch details on September 29, 2010 in Japan, I have speculated on five topics regarding the 3DS launch that we should be learning about real soon, since they were not revealed at E3. At the latest, information should leak out by October 28, when Nintendo and other publishers announce financial results for the half year ending September 2010. To be clear, the following paragraphs are speculation on my part based on what we know, and what we think we know about 3DS – I don't have any inside sources for this information.
  • Rumor: BioWare Working On Unannounced Handheld Game
We know BioWare has Dragon Age 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Mass Effect 3 on its to-do list, but apparently we can add another project to their already hefty development docket — and it's a handheld project, too.
As you can see on the LinkedIn profile of BioWare QA lead Mitchell Fujino (Play.tm via VG247), Fujino has "Unannounced Handheld Game" listed as his current project.

  • Lost and Found: Blue Force | Five Players
Being a police officer is all about procedure. Theirs is a life of paperwork and probable cause; not shoot-outs and shakedowns. It’s a side of the job that’s rarely explored by the media, because it’s boring. We’d rather see them kicking down doors than filling out requisition forms. But in Blue Force, a curious DOS adventure game released in 1993, procedure is everything. And because it was written and designed by Jim Walls, a retired police officer, it feels realistic in a way that games rarely do.
  • Need for Speed MMO turns free MMO
Racing MMO Need for Speed World has zoomed past the one million registered users mark.
And so happy does that make creator EA, that all charges for the game have been dropped.
  • The Boys’ Treehouse Article – Page 1 | Eurogamer.net
Nobody in the games business is under any illusions about the industry’s male-dominated nature. Even so, research showing that the proportion of women working in games in the UK is as low as 4% has turned heads – especially since that suggests a massive decline since the last survey, in 2006, which showed that 12% of staff were female.

Game diary: Why I will not finish Bayonetta

I have been playing  Bayonetta for a few weeks but had to stop for a while because I was too busy at work. That little pause gave me some time to think about my experience with the game and I started wondering if I have enough reasons to continue playing it.

HD remakes are definitely cool

Since we bought the PS 3 I have barely touched my PS 2 games and the main reason for that are the graphics. Once used to the high-def world of  the Playstation 3 games it is very hard for me to trade down again.

That’s why I find brilliant the idea of game companies to revamp some of the popular titles for the PS 2 and launch HD remakes for the PS3. And that’s why I was delighted to read that the Team ICO Collection might be coming out in HD soon.

Apparently, the HD remake of the collection is expected to hit the market in January or April 2011.
