A 100-word review of Resident Evil: The Dark Chronicles

If the idea for a 100-word review looks like it’s been lifted from the No Added Sugar blog, it’s because it has. I was contemplating joining that site and writing a 100-word review was part of the application process. Unfortunately, it looks like the blog is on a prolonged hiatus. The last post is from February and an email seeking contact went unanswered.
Anyhow, I’ve got the review and it would be a shame if it went to waste as I’m quite happy with how it turned out. Here it is:
As plots go, Resident Evil: The Dark Chronicles’ is as delicious as the smelliest of cheeses. It easily puts the best of the franchise’s many incarnations in gaming, film and print in its pocket and shakes a fist at other strong contenders in the so-bad-it’s-good category. Not that you will be playing this game primarily for the story, but it lends a great deal of charm. Few things can beat sharing a WTF laugh with a buddy.
Throw in some tight controls and a varied, thrilling, fun multiplayer that fosters and rewards co-operation, and you’ll be reasonably entertained.
Also, zombies.

Great review! And I can only second the statements in it. As the P2 in the game I had some great laughs with you and can say that Resident Evil: The Dark Chronicles is one of the most valuable games in our current Wii collection. Sadly, earlier games in the franchise, such as Resident Evil 4 do not allow multiplayer. I plan on playing it, but a single player game would not be as much fun.
