Monkey of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

I am a huge fan of Heavenly Sword and, by extension, of developer Ninja Theory, so I was very keen to try out their new creation, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Check out my impressions after the jump.

Predictably, a lot of the searches that bring people here are queries about whether a game has split-screen co-op or not. These are yes/no questions and the answers can get a little repetitive to those who are not particularly interested to know them, so I’ve left them for the second part of the post.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a game I will most certainly buy and play. There are very few titles in the pipeline for this year that make me feel funny in my stomach when I think about getting my hands on them and that is one.

I think the main reason for this is the subtle but unmistakeable similarities with a previous Ninja Theory game — Heavenly Sword. I loved that game. I think it is one of the most unfairly underrated games ever. It had a story that was not only very good (by videogame standards), but also told in a way that remains unmatched in my experience. It was beautiful to look at, fun to play and easy to immerse yourself into.
