There are trophies for losers? How original!

I’ve recently discovered that you can win a trophy for a game you’re playing, even if you are a loser.

I was awarded the trophy “Coward” in Heavy Rain after I failed to complete a scene as it was intended in the game and did not manage to get an important clue for the case.

Also, in Price of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which I am playing right now and received the trophy “Floors Are For Losers” after I remained on the floor too long searching for an exit of a room.

I find the idea of making trophies for losers, brilliant. It is fun and it is motivating and hey, even if you suck you still get to have a trophy :D

Demo nights

Me and Dilyan have these demo nights when we try out new stuff for the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. It goes like that – Dilyan chooses demos of games he thinks we would like and than on demo nights I sit down and play the trial games while he watches. After that we discuss what to buy.

Demo nights are among my favorite things in the whole world. In addition to the sentimental value they have for me, demo nights are really practical.  Thanks to one demo night I decided there no need to waste money on Alone in the Dark, Darkness or The Chronicles of Riddick.  Thanks to several other demo nights I chose wonderful games like Uncharted, Wolverine, Heavy Rain, Halo 3, Mass Effect ect :)

Last Sunday night was demo night and I got to try some new games. For the Xbox 360 I tried two Castlevania arcades that were just a joke, a arcade game called Comix Zone which was not bad, Crash of the Titans which was awesome!, I tried out Disney-Pixar’s Up, which reminded me a lot of Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman and Lego Harry Potter, Plants vs Zombies, which was like the PC game I have, but I just want to have it, it is double awesome!!! and DeathSpank.

For the PS 3 I tried Scott Pilgrim vs the world — not bad, but I don’t think it deserves much attention. Joe Danger, which is  like a stunt racing game for which the age limit should stop at 10. Pixel Junk, which I kind of liked and which reminded me very much of Wik: The Fable of Souls for the Xbox 360. Wik, however, is better than Pixel Junk.

Coming soon: Blood Drive

The new game of Activision combining tough racing action and zombies will be out in November this year,  as many gaming sites  recently reported.

Genre: Action

Platforms: Playstaion 3, Xbox 360

Gameplay: Choose a vehicle and prepare for a racing battle with other players and the swarms of undead coming your way. Hard metal meets dead meat, ’cause that what’s in these days, guys ;)

Blood Drive should bring great variety of vehicles and enemies in six different environments, a single player and a multiplayer mode, which will allow up to four friends play together.

Game diary: Why I will not finish Bayonetta

I have been playing  Bayonetta for a few weeks but had to stop for a while because I was too busy at work. That little pause gave me some time to think about my experience with the game and I started wondering if I have enough reasons to continue playing it.

HD remakes are definitely cool

Since we bought the PS 3 I have barely touched my PS 2 games and the main reason for that are the graphics. Once used to the high-def world of  the Playstation 3 games it is very hard for me to trade down again.

That’s why I find brilliant the idea of game companies to revamp some of the popular titles for the PS 2 and launch HD remakes for the PS3. And that’s why I was delighted to read that the Team ICO Collection might be coming out in HD soon.

Apparently, the HD remake of the collection is expected to hit the market in January or April 2011.
